Question :  Is HR-03 Plus exclusively for 8800 series video cards or can I install it on some other video cards?
   
Answer :  Yes, HR-03 Plus is exclusively for Nvidia GeForce 8800 series due to the size difference of the GPU in comparison to other series. The original HR-03 does not have enough surface area to cover every corner of 8800 series GPU, therefore rendering HR-03 to be incompatible.

Answer :  The 8800 series video cards have 12 DDR3 memory chips and HR-03 Plus has all of them covered as well as for the HSI chip and the PWNIC in that each one has its own RAMsink for sufficient cooling

Question :  Why isn’t stock cooler as effective as HR-03 Plus since it also implemented the heatpipe design? With the amount of money I paid for my video card you would think that they would have a good cooling system to cover it.
   
Answer :  The main reason lies in the heatpipe. With just one heatpipe, the heat isn’t distributed fast and evenly enough to every corner of every fin. Plus with the attempt to lower the noise level by lowering the fan RPM you just cannot get effective cooling from stock cooling system. That’s why you need a Thermalright solution!

Question :  Can I run the HR-03 Plus without a fan?
   
Answer :  Due to the large amount of heat and the wattage (max of 300W)generated by the 8800 series, we would strongly recommend the usage of fan unless your case has a good air flow management that can have air blown directly at the HR-03 Plus.

Even though without a fan, the HR-03 Plus will have similar performance as stock cooler, with that kind of heat endured by the video card, in a long run, it will shorten the life span. So if you plan on sticking with your current 8800 series video card for the long haul, we suggest that you get HR-03 Plus and a fan to blow down on it.
